Wrex the Dog Review (Dawg)

When our Wrex parcel arrived from Amazon, we couldn't wait to tear open the package. Unfortunately in anticipation of delivery of our Wrex, we completely forgot that our new robot dog needs battery powered juice! So at first, all we could do is remove the packaging, string and sticky tape and lift him out of his temporary cardboard home. 10 Minutes and £3.50 later we were putting the 4 C batteries, 2 AA Batteries and 3 AAA batteries in to our new best friend.

The first thing you notice about Wrex is how well he has been put together. WowWee have certainly improved the quality of their materials and Wrex looks amazing. The story behind Wrex is that he is supposed to have come from a scrap yard and as such, his dog body is created out of old scrap metal parts. Wrex's nose is made from an old factor stop/start button, his back legs are made from old car wheels, his ears made from old steel rods and his wiggly tale created from an old rubber pipe. Of course these are not real parts and Wrex is brand new and shiny on first arrival ahead of his review.

Switching Wrex Dog on: Once you have inserted the batteries, Wrex is ready to rock and roll... and roll.. and roll. Wrex is as mischievous as any real dog and will instantly want to go off exploring your living room, bedroom and more importantly ...kitchen! And that's when our Wrex's eyes really did light up and spin around. You see, the most amazing thing about Wrex the Dog is his personality. Wrex is like a real life dog in terms of he reacts to different objects and situations depending on his mood. While writing this review, we had tears coming down our face as Wrex was constantly 'malfunctioning'. Once Wrex malfunctions, he will fall down in a heap and collapse while making funny sounds. Its up to you to then reset him via his onboard circuit parts... continued top right of page >

Wrex the Dog (Dawg) review - we finally get our hands on Wrex the Dog, read our amazing review of this year's coolest toy robot dog.

Review Score: 97%

Wrex remote control: the only thing cooler than Wrex the dog himself is his funky remote control. Wrex's remote is like something you would find in a robot car production line. The remote has 2 large red buttons that allow you to reset Wrex or perform various functions. In the centre of the dog remote control is a simple and easy to use D-pad. This allows you to easily navigate Wrex around your room or garden.

Training Wrex the Dog: The overall aim is to train Wrex to behave just like a regular pet dog. This is slightly more difficult than it sounds but is also highly rewarding. While he may not be 'real', after several hours of playing with Wrex, we strongly feel that Wrex learns how to react to certain objects and after a couple of days, we felt like we had the best pet in the world.

Wrex the Dog Review Overview: Wrex the Dog is the most impressive toy pet ever created and highly addictive. Just like a real dog, you will quickly begin to develop a 'bond' and he will soon genuinely become your new best friend. Wrex the Dog is a must for children and adults of all ages - buy just remember... a dog is for life and not just for Christmas. Get yours with Free Delivery...
